Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! :) I have to apologise AGAIN for being so MIA recently. On Tuesday, my parents and I picked up our new kittens, and they've been taking up a lot of my time! They're absolutely adorable, and I hope to have some footage up for you soon. :3 I've also been sick for the last few days, I've had a cold, sore throat and every muscle in my body seems to be aching. ;_; Silly immune system! I really am trying to keep up with this blog, but recently it’s been very stressful and busy so I am very sorry for the lack of updates. I do hope to have my review of Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder up in the next couple of days, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested. Anyway, that's it for today - I hope you'll all enjoy this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post; It's very different from the usual ones (sorry, I could only think of five things I am truly grateful for). :)

Top Ten Things I Am Thankful For
1. My Family.
Although on many occasions we argue and I end up resenting them at times, I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. I have a really close friendship with my mum - and a pretty good one with my dad. I'm somewhat close with my sister and brothers - even though we do argue quite a bit, I still love them. It literally hurts me to think about them not being here, and I'm so grateful to have them. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost one or both of their parents/family, I can't feel your pain - but I wish you the strength to carry on.

2. My Pets.
This seems a little ridiculous, but I love my pets so much. When I have animals, they become a big part of my life and it pains me so much to see them go. But I'm grateful for all the pets I've had in the past and the ones I have now. Pumpkin is our big fat grumpy but sweet ginger tom that’s 8 years old. Mulberry is our 3 year old Labradoodle who never fails to brighten up my day. Polo, my hamster who's got everyone wrapped around his little feet. And the most recent additions to our family, our Ragdoll/Mainecoon/Russian Blue kittens Violet and Ambrose - who are about 10 weeks old.

3. Books.
What kind of world would it be without books? Without the amazing words authors have written down and shared with us? I'm so thankful for them, and for my book collection. They keep my mind occupied when it would rather be in horrible places and gives me a place to lose myself in when I need an escape from reality. So much love!

4. Book Blogging/Vlogging Community.
You guys are my inspiration, my light at the end of the tunnel. It's seems really amazes me how so many of you are interested in what I have to say. And I wouldn't be here today if it weren't so you guys, so I'm really thankful, to all you! :) Thanks so much for being with me along this journey and for your wonderful comments, advice and help.

5. My Friends.
I don't have that many friends; I can probably count them on my hands and my closest on just one. However, this doesn't make them any less amazing. I don't know what I'd do without them, and I still find it hard to comprehend how they're still here for me, even after all I've put them through in the past. They truly are amazing; I never feel I'm being judged for who I am and I'm so thankful and grateful to have them in my life. They are incredible!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! ^.^ I'm so sorry this post is so late today! I had to go out this morning, and then when I got home; my dad was having computer troubles and I've been helping him for the last couple of hours. It's only just been sorted out, and I nearly forgot to post this at all, I'm sorry! I could only come up with four out of ten for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post, as I decided to go for books that I've read and would redesign the cover - rather than just in general. :D Lastly, I posted my October 2013 Favourites video on my YouTube channel this morning, so if you're interested in that - feel free to go check it out. ^.^ Anyway, that's it for today, I hope you'll enjoy it, even if it's really short this week! I hope you have an awesome day/evening guy. :)

Top Ten Covers I Wish I Could Redesign

1. Pushing The Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1) by Katie McGarry.
Okay, so first off I would like to say that yes, I do know that Mira Ink is redesigning this cover (thank god!). However, this doesn't change the fact that this cover is horrible! I would never have picked this book up if I hadn't heard good things about it already. Also, I refused to actually buy a physical copy, preferring to have it on my kindle - due to the ugliness of this cover. I just think it ruins the fact that it's an incredible book - I don't think I need to say anything else!

2. As You Wish by Jackson Pearce.
This is a really fun and cute book and I really enjoyed reading it. However, the cover is too tacky and immature for my opinion. I love the starry background, but the girl on the cover has just been slapped on there and looks really out of place! The only redeeming quality this book cover has is the font, which is nice but the colouring doesn't match at all. I just think it looks ridiculous!

3. The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) by Carrie Ryan.
This was a really awesome book, but the cover is just a big piece of rubbish in my opinion! I honestly have no idea what it's supposed to be... I prefer the US covers SO much more, and I wish I'd brought the other edition, but I found this one cheap and I wasn't sure if I'd like it. I really don't have a clue what on earth is going on with this cover, it's just ugly and a book I definitely don’t want displayed!

4. Ten Things We Shouldn't Have Done by Sarah Mlynowski.
Why, oh WHY did I buy the UK version of this book?! It's friggin' UGLY as hell! What on earth was I thinking? It's tacky and looks like something a little kid put together. Actually, saying that is being mean on the child! This book is really cute and fun, but the cover screams TRASH. I'm seriously considering re-buying the US copy and getting rid of my UK one, because I'd NEVER display it. At the moment I keep it stashed away in the back of my cupboard and have no plans to change that. Ever.

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! :) How are you all doing? I hope you all had a great weekend and you're enjoying your week so far. :3 It seems like it's been months since I last posted a Top Ten Tuesday post, rather than just a few weeks. I couldn't make it to ten this week, but I still think finding seven is pretty darn good! I've found I've read a lot of standalone novels, and the series that I have read; I've either already got the next book in the series or it's already been released. ^.^ Anway, I've been really busy recently so I'm sorry for the lack of updates (once again ._.), so unfortunately my October Wrap-Up is going to be a little late this month, so I hope you all don't mind. That's it for today; I hope you enjoy today’s post! :D

Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait To Get My Hands On
1. Rain (Paper Gods, #2) by Amanda Sun.
I absolutely ADORED the first book, Ink, in this series - and I really can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. I can't believe I have to wait until June 2014 for it to be released, and we don't even have a cover for it yet to keep us going until then. ;_; June, WHY YOU NOT COME QUICKER?

2. The Forever Song (Blood of Eden, #3) by Julie Kagawa.
Okay, I think Julie Kagawa was trying to KILL US with the ending of The Eternity Cure! (The second book in this series) The Blood of Eden series has to be one of my favourite Vampire series. Ever! The minute I finished The Eternity Cure, I NEEDED to get my hands on this book, but unfortunately we have to wait until April 2014 - and it's killing me, it really is. D:

3. Her Dark Curiosity (The Madman's Daughter, #2) by Megan Shepherd
I really loved The Madman's daughter, which is a retelling of The Island of Dr. Monroe, and the ending really killed me! The synopsis of this second book looks fantastic, and I love the fact it's going to be a retelling of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - as I really enjoyed the original when I read it in school! It's such a shame we have to wait for so long until this one is released, I need to find out what happens next!

4. Be with Me (Wait for You, #2) by J. Lynn.
I know this is actually a companion novel to Wait for You, a new adult contemporary novel that I've recently read and loved. But I’ve decided I don't care - I'm SO excited about the prospect of reading more of J. Lynn's new adult contemporary writing. Jennifer's writing is fantastic and amazing and I just want to keep reading more by her, and see how she develops the characters that were mentioned in the first book who now star in this one. :D

5. The Nightmare Dilemma (The Arkwell Academy, #2) by Mindee Arnett.
My god! The amount of love I have for the first book in this series is HUGE! I was approved for a NetGalley of The Nightmare Affair a while ago and I absolutely adored it! It has such a unique and interesting premise - and I'm sure everyone would love it! I'm just so excited to continue on with the story and find out what happens next! :D WHY YOU NO COME QUICKER 2014?!

6. Chasing Stars (After Eden, #2) by Helen Douglas.
I've only just recently finished the first book in this series, After Eden. I enjoyed it much more than I expecting too, and since then I've reviewed it and read the recently released synopsis for the sequel to this book, and oh my gosh! I'm so excited for the next book to be released, even though it's going to be ages as the first one has only just been released... D: It doesn't seem fair that we have to wait so long...

7. Take Me On (Pushing the Limits #4) by Katie McGarry.
I know this is also technically another companion novel in this series, but I don't care - I'm still excited! I've read and loved the first two books in this series, and I own an ARC of the third, which I can't wait to read. I don't know who the characters are in this particular book, but it still looks amazing. I can't WAIT to be able to read it as Katie's writing is really beautiful and incredible!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! ^.^ How're you all doing? Are you enjoying the start of the week? I can't believe it's already the 1st of October. O_o It's so strange! I still need to film, upload and post my September 2013 Wrap-Up, so it's probably going to be a little late this month. ^^; Anyway, I'm back again this week to do another Top Ten Tuesday post, I think this week’s topic is really interesting. :) I can't wait to see what some of the other bloggers find unappealing in books. I could only come up with 7 today, but I think that's still pretty good if you ask me. ;) Anyway, enjoy! :D

Top Ten Book Turn-Offs
1. Obsessive Use Of Slang
I don't know about any of you guys, but I find it extremely annoying when characters are constantly using slang words. Most of the time, even though I'm still young, I have no idea what they're talking about! Normal, correctly spelled and punctuated speech is better in my opinion.
2. Selfish Characters.
I don't think I even need to explain this one - selfish characters irritate me no end. I hate it when they will stop at nothing or hurt anyone to get what they think they deserve or want. You’re not the centre of the universe, love! We can't always get what we want.
3. Animal Cruelty.
I have no problem what-so-ever with the author killing off characters, but when they start to kill off animals - it makes me bawl like a baby. I don't know what prompts people in real life to be cruel to animals; it’s sick - so please don’t write about it! Usually If there is a lot of this going on in a book, I put it down and don’t want to finish it.
4. Insta-Love.
I don't believe people can fall in love at first sight. Of course you can have a crush on someone when you first see them, but love needs time to grow and develop - so I always find it a turn-off when the characters in books fall in love with a guy/girl they've just met. It's just not realistic!
5. Cheating.
Another one I don't feel the need to explain much. If you're with someone, why on earth do you feel the need to cheat? If you don't want to be with that person and what to be with another - TELL THEM! I just hate cheaters in general, as well as in books. I try my best to steer clear of books that contain anyone like this.
6. Love Triangles.
Some particular love triangles are okay, I’ll grant you that. However most of the ones I read about are particularly annoying - especially when the main character is messing both of the characters around because she 'can't decide'. Just CHOOSE for gods sake!
7. Obsessive/Controlling Partner
Ugh. I just HATE it when a character, usually the boyfriend, is so controlling and obsessive over the protagonist! I find it so annoying to read about the boyfriends who never let their girlfriend talk to other guys, or ALWAYS has to be with her, even when she's around her friends. It's irritating and I don't like reading about it!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! ^.^ How are you all doing today? :) I think I'm probably going to be absent from blogging for a few days, mainly because I've just not been feeling very good lately and I just need some time off doing things to recuperate. I know you'll all understand, and hopefully within a week or maybe less, I'll be back with more posts and YouTube videos! I've not been able to read much recently, so I'm still reading Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend, but when I finish that I'll try and write my review and post it when I take. Until then, please enjoy this Top Ten Tuesday post!

Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

1. The Immortal Rules by Julia Kagawa.
I want this to be turned into a movie SO BAD! I am fan-girling just thinking about this book, and series so far. I think they'd make incredible movies - and I'd really love to see Alison come to life on the big screen. I'd also love to see the post-apocalyptic world and the rabids - it'd be amazing. If you're a film producer and you're reading this - MAKE THIS IN TO A FILM, PLEASE? :D

2. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld.
I'm not sure I've heard anyone who has read this series, who hasn't said they'd like this book/series to be turned into movies/TV show. I'm not sure which I'd prefer they do - but I think doing the books as individual movies would be fantastic. I love Tally, and I'm sure she'd be such an interesting character portrayed on screen. This is another series I can't wait to finish.

3. Gone by Michael Grant.
This is another series that I'm sure lots of people want to be made in to movies. Personally, I think it'd be a great TV show - mainly because they there are so many books and they're really long. It'd be amazing to see all the powers that the different characters have! I also need to continue on with this series ASAP!

4. Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
I know that this was originally going to be a TV show, but unfortunately the pilot they made was turned down by Fox. I was really disappointed about this, because I think it would have made an incredible show. The entire storyline is so unique and I'd have loved to of seen it acted out! I really do need to get on and read the final two books in the trilogy though...

5. Wither by Lauren DeStefano.
I just think that this book and the series would make incredible films! The whole concept of this book is fantastic, and I'd be amazing to see it acted out by people. I don't know what else to say about this, I just really wish it could be turned into a movie - I'm sure it would be incredibly popular! That's all.

6. Partials by Dan Wells.
The world building in this book is great and it would be so awesome to see how film producers would create it! The Partials, which are the genetically engineered soldiers, would be fantastic to see, especially with the special effects we have now days. I believe, because the books are so long, that it’d do really well as a TV show, but movies would work fine as well!

7. The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting.
I think this book, and the rest of this series would make a fantastic and intriguing TV show! It's basically a murder mystery TV series with a twist and staring a teenage lead! I have no doubt I'd be jumping at the thought of this book being turned into a show, it'd be really fun and interesting. Yet another series I can't wait to finish...

8. Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts.
There aren't enough post-apocalyptic movies and TV shows in my opinion! This book would work really well as either, and the big plus is that the characters are teenagers and that it swops from their perspectives. Imagine the fun the fun producers could have turning this book/series into footage? I'd be incredible! Add the fact that this isn't your normal Zombie eating your brains book - the scary men are smart and clever and you've got yourself some awesome takes.

9. Eve by Anna Carey.
I'm thinking this one really doesn't need to be explained that much, the reason I think I'd make a great movie is the same as the one above - minus the Zombies/Mad Men. I'd love to see how the post-apocalyptic world and how it's fallen into disrepair, especially when the main character travels through it. I mean, a large sum of the population has died, and now the kids live in schools/camps designed specifically for certain reason. I can't stress how cool this would be to watch.

10. My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent.
I don't have an explanation for why this would make an incredible TV show, I just think it would. Let's just hope, if they do, they maybe make Kaylee's scream a good scream for the audience, but not for the humans around her. I don't really want my ears deafened from the film. :P But yes, incredible book, incredible series - Rachel Vincent, you're amazing!

Hey Book Nerds! :) Sorry for my being so absent from the blog lately, but I've been really distracted setting up the new layout. What do you guys think of it? :) I love it! I think it turned out really well. There may be a few extra things I want to tweak, but everything seems to be running fine at the moment. ^.^ Anyway, for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post, I only managed to come up with eight out of the ten. However, I still think it's good! :D I may be a little biased about some of these, mainly because most of them are the love-interests in books that I just loved but oh well! ;) I hope you all had a great weekend and that you're having a good week so far. Talk soon! ^.^

5. Valek from Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder.

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! :3 How are you all doing today? I'm doing well; in case any of you were curious. ;) I've been doing a lot of reading lately; I started reading and finished reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater the other day and I absolutely adored it - it made me cry. I gave it 5/5 stars! The same evening I finished reading Shiver, i picked up Teacher's Pest by Charles Gilman, which is the third book in the Tales from Lovecraft Middle School series and I finished it that night. It was definitely my favourite of the series so far, I gave it 4/5 stars and my review will be posted either tomorrow or on Thursday - so keep an eye out for that. :) Lastly, I’d like to say that very soon my new layout for my blog will be up - sorry it's taken so long, I’ve just been so distracted lately. I hope you all have a great week! :D

Top Ten Things That Make Your Life As A Reader/Book Blogger Easier
1. Good Reads.
I'm pretty sure that everyone will be putting this down on their TTT post, but for me it's been so helpful! I love how I can find a synopsis of a book so quickly, read reviews by people (and my friends) and post my own reviews, too. I also love being able to just add books to my TBR list, and go back later on and look them all over. And finally, I love how Good Reads will tell you what number a book is in a series - so I'll never accidentally buy the second or third book in a series again!
2. Amazon.
I'm constantly finding so many great deals on Amazon, and I nearly always buy my books used! I can buy books for under £3 a piece and now I refuse to pay full price for books - the retail prices just seem so expensive in comparison. It's also a great thing for me too, because I can navigate the site and choose the American editions of books if I want too! Or just a different cover if there's one available. I love Amazon!
3. Book-Tubers.
I'm also a book-tuber myself, but I find watching other book-tubers videos so helpful! I love watching book hauls - I always seem to come away from watching the video with at least one of their books that I want to read added to my TBR list. It's not just the hauls though, usually hearing about their opinions on books (particularly ones I don't know if I want to read) will always help sway my opinion to the yes or no pile.
4. Meme's.
If you're like me, and find it hard to come up with posts for your blog - then you'll know it's kind of stressful! Sometimes I have lots of ideas, and other weeks and I have zero. Nada. Nothing! So I find meme's really great and fun to participate in! They give you a topic to focus on for that day/week and give your viewers content that you might not have posted otherwise. They're also great for helping build up traffic to your blog, because you can comment/and/or leave your link to your blog post on the original creator’s post where others can see it! Good old meme's, you've yet of fail me...
5. Microsoft Word.
This one is aimed at the book blogger part of me. Overall, I'm a really good speller and I can be a bit of a Grammar Nazi at times - I just don't like deliberately illiterate people. However, when I'm blogging or writing my reviews, I’m typing away furiously, trying to get all my thoughts, opinions and other useful things down before I forget them all. It's not until I copy and paste what I've written into word, or re-read what I've written that I find that there's usually a least a few spelling mistakes and poor grammar. Thank god for Microsoft word, which easily picks up on all these little faults and I can go back over it and redo them. I don't know where I'd be without it.
6. NetGalley.
NetGalley is an awesome website where book reviewers can get their hands on soon-to-be-released books. I know a lot of people use Edelweiss, but because I live in the United Kingdom, a lot of publishers can't send me eGalleys for copyright reasons. It's also great because, if you're like me, I get very impatient waiting for books to be released. You can share your feedback with the publisher who allowed you to read the copy as well - so it's all great fun!
7. Corel Paintshop Pro & Photoshop.
I use a mixture of Corel's Paintshop Pro X3 and Photoshop for all sorts of things to do with my blog, from the layout to any banners for posts. I've been using both these programs for over 9 years and they never fail to amaze me with how much can be done with them!
8. Charity Shops
I'm always buying books from charity shops, not only does the money go towards a good cause, but they also sell books for really cheap! I love searching the shops and coming across great bargains for books I really want to read. Who could possibly turn down a book for £1.50 or £2.00? I know I can't! :D
9. Blogger.
As much as I like the look of Wordpress, at how sleek and smart everything looks - I just don't think it's the blogging platform for me at the moment. I love to customise everything about my blog, and write my own coding and CSS - and unfortunately, you can't do that on blogger unless you pay for a yearly package. In the future, I will be buying my own domain name (I've done it lots of times in the past) and will probably move to Wordpress, until then; blogger provides everything I need, especially the ability to code everything myself - which is a must for me!
10. You Guys!
I wouldn't be where I am today with my blog if it weren't for all of you! I love hearing all of your feedback and opinions, and it makes my life as a book reader AND book blogger so much easier. So, thank you so much guys. You are my inspiration! (Wow, that sounds cheesy...)

Hey Book Nerds! ^.^ I hope you're all doing well. (: Sorry for the lateness of this post, I started working on it last night - and completely forgot about it until now because the carpet man came and turned our house upside down. :P However, EVERYTHING is back in place now, and I'm waiting for my grandparents to come over - my mum is going to be showing off the new carpet. xD She's a bit weird like that! I couldn't quite manage to make it to ten for this weeks Top Ten Tuesday, but it doesn't matter, I hope you enjoy. :3 Anyway, that's it for today - I hope you've all had a great weekend! :D

Top Ten Books I Wish Could Have Had Sequels

1. Hollow Pike by James Dawson.
I adored this book and it did have a great ending, but I would have LOVED it to have a sequel. I’d love to read about how the characters end up dealing with their magic issues. I’d just love to read anything more from James Dawson, even if it’s not these characters!

2. The DUFF by Kody Keplinger.
The DUFF was one of my favourite books of 2012, but I REALLY wish I could read more about these characters! It's a wonderful stand-alone book, but I NEED MORE of Bianca and Wes, I loved their relationship - it was amazing. I really wish I had a relationship like theirs, it makes me go all giggly and act like an idiot. I loved it! :D

3. Flawed by Kate Avelyn.
This book had me in tears and it killed me, it really did! This was another one of my favourite books, and I'm dying to find out what happens to Sarah after the novel ended. Maybe we could just have a novelette for after the book finishes? No? ;_; My heart is breaking..

4. The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith.
I just need to know whether this couple’s love at first sight lasts! I loved the characters in this book, and the romance was so cute. It'd be great to have a sequel and to see where they both end up. Are they still together? If not, why? If so, can we please read more about their adorable relationship? ;)

5. The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong.
This is by far one of my favourite trilogies! The ending for this book was great, but I do REALLY want another book or two in this series. I love the main character, Chloe - she's awesome, and Derek and Simon are fantastic! I need to find out what happens AFTER the last book ends and see how Derek’s and Chloe’s relationship develop. :3

6. Dead To You by Lisa McMann.
The ending of this book absolutely killed me! I had no idea when I went into reading this book that it would end the way it did. This being; Lisa, can you PLEASE write a sequel to your awesome novel and let us know what happens to the characters? Thank you! ^.^

7. Flawless by Lara Chapman.
I LOVED Sarah's character; she's such a strong person and I admired her character a lot. I also loved her friendship with her best friend and with her love interest, Rock. Even though this was a fantastic stand-alone book, I WISH I could read more about these characters and see how their relationships develop!

8. Parallel by Lauren Miller.
I really enjoyed this book, and I thought it was really fantastic. However, the ending was left really open, and I NEED to find out what happens to Abby and Astronomy Boy! Even though I wasn't overly keen on Abby's character, I really did love her relationship with Astronomy Boy, it was SO cute and I really want to read more. :)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! :) Sorry for the lack of updates last week. (Aside from the Book Haul) I've just been really tired the last week or so, and the heats been getting to me. I've just been sitting on my bed doing jigsaws and watching my DVD set of Pretty Little Liars. It's been quite fun actually. :P Anyway, today's Top Ten Topic is quite interesting, and I can't wait to see what turns you off from certain books. I'm surprised that I made it to ten, as there are only a few topics that I dislike reading. Now that I look back on the post, there are more that I hate than I knew. A few months back, I would have mentioned historical fiction, but I no longer hate that. Now, onto mine!

Top Ten Words/Topics That Will Make Me Not Pick Up A Book
1. War.
I may be slowly getting into Historical Fiction, but this does not detract from the fact that I'm really not that keen on War Related books, whether they're fiction or not! I find War based books quite boring and depressing - that's not to say the books are - but I've just never been keen on the topic on the topic in general. Usually I stay clear or them, or only read the book if it has very little to do with the subject.
2. Religion.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against anyone who is religious. I'm an Atheist, and I just don't like reading books that are based solely around religion in general. A little of it is fine by me, but there are certain books that just go on and on about it throughout the entire novel. This just really irritates me, and I try to stay clear of ones that I know are going to be focusing on that subject in particular.
3. Autobiographies.
As much as I love reading books, I'm not a huge fan of non-fiction. Usually, I'm really not interested in the person's life and how they grew up. So it'll be a rare occasion if I ever decide I want to read one. I'm not saying their autobiographies are boring; they're just not for me.
4. Self-help.
I believe everyone's problems are individual, and a lot of the times, things that work for someone - can make things worse for something else. It's great if you find that self-help books ACTUALLY help, but I've read a few and just scoffed at them. I have a variety of problematic issues, and I find my own ways to deal with them. I don't think the authors of these books are helpful, and I kind of think they're acting like now-it-alls.
5. Animal Characters.
As cute as the book seems, I really don't want to read a book where the main character is an animal. No matter what type of animal it is - I just don't. To be honest, I find them kind of boring and annoying. That's it.
6. Cheating/Infidelity.
I am wholeheartedly AGAINST cheating in any way or form, especially when someone cheats on their boyfriend/girlfriend. I tend to stay clear of this topic, mainly because I get so frustrated at the characters and find myself wanting to wring their necks. No offense, but it's just not my cup of tea.
7. Poetry.
As much as I want to love poetry, I've just never really gotten into it as much as I'd like. To me, poetry is something I was made to read/study in school and I was definitely not keen on it then. I'm trying to branch out in my reading, but at the moment I'm staying clear of poetry, at least until I find some that I actually enjoy.
8. Sports.
I hate the majority of sports; it's as simple as that. I've never been a sporty girl, (can’t you tell?! XD) nor have I liked watching them. It's exactly the same with reading about them, they just don't interest me - and normally bore me to tears. If there's only a slight mention of it throughout the book, I don't mind. However, when the whole book is focused around it, it's a big no-no for me.
9. Steampunk.
I'm not exactly sure what the book definition of Steampunk is, but I'm guessing it revolves around the industrial revolution time period, but it has a slightly modern twist to it? Tell me if I'm wrong, but it's definitely not my kind of thing. If I see a book that's Steampunk related, I generally run screaming in the opposite direction. (Slight exaggeration, but you get my drift.)
10. Animal Cruelty.
I don't think I even have to explain this one. Who on earth wants to watch, let alone READ about this topic? The whole thought of it makes me burst into tears. I can't even begin to comprehend how ANYONE would want to intentionally hurt an animal, it's just sick.

What are your Top Ten Words/Topics That Will Make You Not Pick Up A Book? Leave me a comment or a link to your blog post and I'll be sure to check it out! ^.^ Happy reading! (:

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Hey Book Nerds! ^.^ How are you all doing today? :) I'm good, I've been helping my dad repaint our hallway over the last few days - and it's really tiring work! I finished reading The Scorch Trials last night and I really enjoyed it! I was going to review it, as I reviewed the first book in the series, but I can't be bothered. It was a great book though and I gave it 4/5 stars. (I also accidentally spoiled the ending of The Death Cure by reading someone’s review! ;_;) Anyway, I only managed to think of 8 authors for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, but I hope you enjoy!

Top Ten Authors Who Deserve More Recognition
1. Hannah Parry
Hannah was kind enough to send me her book for review a few months back - and to be perfectly honest; I hadn't heard of her beforehand. However, when I read her novel Isabella Rockwell's War, I found that her writing was really fantastic! Hannah is the reason I've branched out into reading more Historical Fiction novels, and I REALLY thank her for that! You can check out my review of Isabella Rockwell's War here.
2. Cara Bertrand
I've only had the privilege to read one of Cara Bertrand's novels, but I love her already! Cara is a total sweetheart and an amazing writer. I read Lost In Thought earlier this year and it was such a fantastic book. She creates such wonderful characters and I can't believe she's not as well known! You can check out my review of Lost In Thought here.
3. Rachel Caine
I know that a lot of people know about Rachel, especially because of her Morganville Vampire series. However, I've noticed that just because people know of her - doesn't mean they're reading her books! Rachel's writing is fantastic, and her Morganville Vampire series amazing and should definitely be read by more people.
4. Nikki Jefford
Nikki Jefford has become more popular recently, but not as much as I think she deserves! I read one of her novels, Transfusion, for a blog tour earlier this year and it was really fantastic! Transfusion is a vampire-based novel, with such an original plot. She's also written a series about fairies, which I have yet to read, but I've heard nothing but good things about! You can read my review of Transfusion here.
5. Lara Chapman
I've also only read one of Lara Chapman's novels, but the one I did read, Flawless - I COULN'T put down! It was such a fantastic book and it seems like a crime that she's not better known. Lara's writing is beautiful and flawless and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future. Go check her out!
6. James Dawson
James Dawson, you're amazing! Everything about James' writing is really incredible and I can't recommend his book Hollow Pike strongly enough. The characters that James creates are brilliant and the air of mystery around everything throughout his book is amazing. Although I've only read the one book by him, I can't wait to read more him in the future!
7. Gabriella Poole
Gabriella has written a book series about supernatural creatures of sorts, they may be relatively short (about 230 pages), but they don't leave anything out! Gabriella's writing is very detailed and has an air of mystery about it that I just love. I think she definitely deserves more recognition and I really encourage you to pick up her books!
8. Jaimie Admans
I've spoken to Jaimie a few times, and not only is she a really lovely person - but she's an amazing writer, too! I participated in a blog tour for her novel, Afterlife Academy - and I'm SO glad I did. Jaimie's writing is fun and quirky and her characters are so relatable in so many different ways. I definitely recommend you check her out! You can check out my review of Afterlife Academy here.
