Friday Finds #21

Friday finds is a meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading which showcases the books you've recently ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list.

Hey book nerds! :3 How are you all doing today? Can you TGIF? :P I started reading Insatiable by Meg Cabot this morning and I didn't realise how big of a book it was until I picked it up! It's nearly 500 pages. ^^; It's really good so far, even though I'm only about 30 or so pages in. I have an appointment later today with my care coordinator and I'm really not looking forward to it, mostly because I'm so tired! I didn't sleep well last night at all. Oh well, that's it for now - I hope you all have a great Friday!

Friday Finds

The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen.
What if the characters in a vampire novel left their world--and came into yours?
Amy is in love with someone who doesn't exist: Alexander Banks, the dashing hero in a popular series of vampire novels. Then one night, Amy meets a boy who bears an eerie resemblance to Alexander. In fact, he IS Alexander, who has escaped from the pages of the book and is in hot pursuit of a wicked vampire named Vigo. Together, Amy and Alexander set out to track Vigo and learn how and why Alexander crossed over. But when she and Alexander begin to fall for each other, Amy wonders if she even wants him to ever return to the realm of fiction.

The Cursed Ones (Crusade, #1) by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguié.
The ultimate battle. The ultimate love. For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun.

Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated—and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose. Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself—and her heart.

The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove by Lauren Kate.
A steamy Southern beauty makes one fatal mistake. Natalie Hargrove would kill to be her high school’s Palmetto Princess. But her boyfriend Mike King doesn’t share her dream and risks losing the honor of Palmetto Prince to Natalie’s nemesis, Justin Balmer. So she convinces Mike to help play a prank on Justin. . . one that goes terribly wrong. They tie him to the front of the church after a party—when they arrive the next morning, Justin is dead. From blackmail to buried desire, dark secrets to darker deeds, Natalie unravels. She never should’ve messed with fate. Fate is the one thing more twisted than Natalie Hargrove.

Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan.
This is the story of Paul, a sophomore at a high school like no other: The cheerleaders ride Harleys, the homecoming queen used to be a guy named Daryl (she now prefers Infinite Darlene and is also the star quarterback), and the gay-straight alliance was formed to help the straight kids learn how to dance. When Paul meets Noah, he thinks he’s found the one his heart is made for. Until he blows it.

The school bookie says the odds are 12-to-1 against him getting Noah back, but Paul’s not giving up without playing his love really loud. His best friend Joni might be drifting away, his other best friend Tony might be dealing with ultra-religious parents, and his ex-boyfriend Kyle might not be going away anytime soon, but sometimes everything needs to fall apart before it can really fit together right.

Summaries from Good Reads. I really want to get my hands on copies of all of these books - they look fantastic! ^.^ I think the one I'm most excited about getting my hands on though is The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove. I LOVE murder mysteries/thriller books :) However, The Vampire Stalker looks incredible as well! As for the covers, I love the typography on The Cursed Ones, it's amazing. I like the simplicity of Boy Meets Boy's cover and my favourite cover is The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove's - because the colours are stunning and the overall effect is amazing. ^.^ Have you read any of my finds this week? Let me know!

  1. I really liked The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove! Although it was a bit of a guilty pleasure :) I'd love to see what you think when you get round to reading it. I need to read more by David Levithan too because his bits were my favourite parts of Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

Also I've never read any Meg Cabot :O I need to fix that!

Great finds :) here's my Friday Finds post.

    Have a fab weekend!
